Larkin

The other day I was preparing to teach my lesson at church. The stress was getting to me as it usually does. All the other little things in my life seem to get magnified and I'm embarrassed to say it but it's pretty easy to make me cry when I'm in the middle of all of that.
I was in the kitchen and Blake noticed that I needed some help. He asked if I wanted him to make me some eggs for breakfast. I said yes through teary eyes. He hugged me and yelled for the kids to all come in the kitchen and "hug your mom so she'll stop crying."
Then he pulled them all to the side and whispered something in their ears. Then they all stood up and put their right fists in the air and said, "We'll give you something to cry about."
Then Lilly came over and gave me a kiss then Larkin followed suit. Then Blake said, "No you're supposed to hit her not kiss her." It did the trick of lightening the mood for me. We all laughed and then went on with our business.
Blake bent over to get the pan out to make my eggs and Larkin grabbed his arm and would not let go. (She can be freakishly strong when she wants to be.) We soon figured out that Larkin thought Blake was getting the frying pan out to hit me with it and she was not going to let that happen.

It's good to know someone has my back.

Is there anything better?

I've come to realize that there's not very many things better in life than listening to your child sing their little heart out while they have head phones on. Lilly got an MP3 player for her birthday this year and Blake filled it with all of her favorites.

A LILLY MEMORY

When Lilly was about 5yrs old we were in my bathroom and I was doing her hair. Then she, out of the blue, says: Mom seven is a bad word.
Mom: No it's not.
Lilly: Yes it is.
Mom: No it's not. It's a number.
Lilly: Yes it is Mom. Seven is a bad word.
Mom: No. One two three four five six seven. See it's a number.
Lilly: Oh, it's six Mom. Six is the bad word.

(She was referring to the word sex.)

things going on

My parents left a few weeks ago. They are serving a mission in Adam-Ondi-Ahman. We're very proud of them and we miss them a lot. We decided that we would send them a picture of our family every Monday for family night. We don't want them to forget what we look like. It's hard not having here but as far a missions go we kind of lucked out. We are aloud to talk to them on the phone and email them as much as we want. We have also been encouraged to visit them. I hope I get to.

Lilly is getting baptized soon. I can't believe how fast she's grown. She is such a good girl and a great big sister. She's so excited and so am I. I'm so proud of what a good student she is. I love the things she likes and wants to be a apart of. Some of my favorite things is when we read together and watch movies together. She's one of the best daughters a mom could have.

We'll see

I really like reading my friends blogs. I'm very half heartedly going to see if I like doing this.
